In 2010, we decided to add to our family.  Having lost our beloved Joe the previous year, we decided it was time for Gelda to have a companion again.

We chose our new puppy for her lovely bone and substance, her good conformation, super temperament and good breeding. We were happy we had a very promising pup.

Freia was very mature and at just 6 months at her first show she was awarded Gundog Puppy Group 3.  She was Best Puppy in Breed at Cruft's and Best Puppy in show at LMC show, she gained her Junior Warrant and at 16 months old took her first Reserve Challenge Certificate at SKC, with Gelda getting the Challenge Certificate and Best of Breed, it was a day to remember.  The following month she was awarded her first Challenge Certificate. At 20 months Freia got her second CC along with Best of Breed.  By the time she was 2 1/2, she had gained her 3rd CC and became a Show Champion.  Freia now has 5 CC's, 1 BOB and also 6 Reserve  CC's.

At 2 years of age she passed her Natural Apptitude test,

as a result of this, and the encouragement of fellow gundog people,  Trev  decided to start training Freia for gundog working tests. He and Freia joined various clubs and attends regular training sessions.

In 2013, Trev entered his first series of working tests with Freia, although starting her training later than the norm, we have been very pleased with her progress so far, achieving a 3rd place in Novice at the LMC test and a 2nd place in Graduate at Hampshire Gundog Club.  To date, Freia has 6 awards  at Working Tests, although unplace at the others, Freia has finished in the top 12 at most, out of high entries, 40 -50 per class.

We are very impressed with Freia's natural ability so far. Trev is quite happy to acknowledge that most mistakes on tests have been down to handler error due to his lack of experience !!!

In November 2015, Friea attended The Large Munsterlander Club All Age Field Trial, where she gained her  SHOW GUNDOG WORKING CERTIFICATE, thus, making her a CHAMPION !!

 

Freia is such a sweet natured girl, very steady and responsive and a joy to live with.
